Cancellation Policy
All cancellations will incur a minimum $14.50 charge per site. Cancellations made at least 15 days before your arrival date will be refunded to the original credit card used for booking (less cancellation fees), with a processing time of up to 30 days.

Reservations canceled within 14 days of your arrival date are non-refundable. However, you may receive a reservation credit (minus the cancellation fee) which can be used for a future stay or purchases in the campground store.

No refunds or credits will be issued after your arrival, and early departures are not eligible for refunds. Should you choose to leave early, it is your choice. Please note that we are not responsible for any discomforts related to nature, natural disasters, weather conditions, fishing outcomes, illness, fires, or similar issues. Refunds will not be given for such occurrences.

Changes or transfers to reservations within 15 days of your arrival date may incur a $10.00 processing fee. Additionally, reservations not checked in by 11 AM the morning after your scheduled arrival date will be released without a refund.
General Policies
​THIS IS A PRIVATE PARK. Please be considerate of others. The owners and/or their employees are not responsible for accidents or injuries to our customers, or their guests, or for loss due to accident, injury, or theft. All customers and guests must comply with all federal, state, and local laws. The owners and management of The Hat Creek Hereford Ranch & RV Park reserve the right to refuse anyone and/ or to revoke all privileges of entry and use of the park for misconduct or violation of any rule or law. We reserve the right to evict anyone for behavior detrimental to the park and its visitors, for failing to observe the park rules, or if they are not cooperative without a refund. According to section 537 of the California Penal Code “anyone who absconds, vandalizes or attempts to defraud the park by not paying their fees may be subject to prosecution.”

DEPOSITS/ CREDIT CARDS A deposit of 50% of the total amount of your stay is required on all reservations, at the time of booking. By providing a credit card number, you are authorizing us to bill your credit card, including any costs accrued while at the property, outstanding balances not paid at the time of departure, and any damages caused by you or your family/guests to anything on the RV Park property.

TENT SITE FEES include 2 adults, 1 pet, and 1 vehicle. MAX of 4 people, 2 tents, and 3 pets per tent site.

GROUP TENT SITE FEES include 4 adults, 2 children, 1 pet, 1 vehicle. MAX of 10 people and 4 tents. (pet restrictions may apply)

RV SITE FEES include 2 adults, 1 pet, and 1 vehicle/RV. MAX number of guests in an RV site is 6. One tent may be allowed per RV site with prior approval from management or office staff.

ADDITIONAL GUESTS Adult guests 17 & older - $5.00 per person/ night. Children 16 & under - $3.00/night (infants under 1 year are free). Additional pets are $2 per pet/ night. Additional vehicles will be charged $5 per day and may be required to park in overflow parking areas.
Please note: 3-night minimum for all events and holiday weekends. **10-day max stay for all guests without advanced approval from management. ​

PARK RULES Check-in time is 1 PM. Check-out time is 11 AM. **Guests who have not vacated their sites after 11 AM will be charged a $20 late checkout fee unless you receive prior approval from office staff. All fees must be paid before you enter your site. If you wish to extend your stay please check in with the office as soon as possible. It may be necessary to move to a different site if your space has been reserved by another guest.

CAMP HOST is located in site 28 for after-hours emergencies/maintenance issues.

WIFI is free, however, due to the remote location we cannot guarantee connectivity at all times. Please see the office for a password.

OVERNIGHT GUESTS All overnight guests must register upon arrival and pay appropriate fees. You are responsible for the actions of your guests and may be charged for any damages, or unpaid site fees/additional persons if your guests do not pay.

TENT CAMPING in designated areas only. Tent camping in RV Sites only with prior approval of management.

QUIET HOURS are from 10:00 pm - 8:00 am. Please be respectful of others and do not make any unnecessary noise during this time.

SPEED LIMIT in the park is 5 mph and this is strictly enforced. This is a family park, and we love our guests too much to see anyone get hurt. Please watch for children. The use of motorized scooters, motorcycles, ATVs, and other off-road vehicles within the park is prohibited. Please do not cut through campsites.

CHILDREN must be supervised by a parent/guardian in the campground at all times. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult when fishing or swimming. Children 10 and under must be accompanied to the restrooms. According to California law, All bicycle and non-motorized scooter riders under the age of 18 must wear a helmet.

PETS that are well-behaved are always welcome, and responsible pet owners are required. Per county ordinance, all pets must be leashed at all times. Pets must not be left unattended. It is the owner's responsibility to clean up after the animals. Excessive barking and or aggressive behavior is not allowed. For your convenience, a pet walk has been established to the north of the pond. Please keep pets out of the swimming area and be mindful of those fishing along the banks.

GENERATORS/ OUTSIDE ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES are not allowed without prior approval from management and additional fees do apply. Please do not use your generator unless you are dry camping and do not use your generator during quiet hours.

SEWER CONNECTIONS According to California law a 3-inch airtight threaded adapter for sewer hookup is required. Holding tank chemicals containing formaldehyde is prohibited.

BBQ GRILLS & CLEAN-UP Please avoid damage to property and do not place BBQs on picnic tables. Please remove all dishwashing debris from around campground faucets as this attracts flies and bugs.

FIREARMS Discharge of firearms and the use of fireworks of any kind is strictly prohibited within the park.

THEFT/VANDALISM The campground office provides outdoor games and activities for guests free of charge. Please help us keep this fun tradition by taking care of items, and returning all paddles, balls, equipment, and accessories to the store after each use. Anyone caught vandalizing park property including recreation areas, campsites, and bathrooms will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.

TRASH dumpsters are located near the restrooms. Please place bagged garbage in the large dumpsters located by either shower house. At this time we do not have recycling cans but you may place broken-down cardboard next to the dumpsters. Do not place broken chairs, tents, or shade covers in the dumpsters or enclosures around them. Please take them with you to dispose of them. Do not litter or use fire pits for trash.

LAUNDRY facilities are available 24 hours for your convenience. Please remove items promptly as unattended laundry may be removed by other guests. The park is not responsible for lost or stolen items, or items damaged by improper use of machines. Please do not wash items with oil or grease. Please hose heavily soiled items off before washing.

PARKING in designated areas only. Extra vehicles will be charged $5 per day and may be asked to park in overflow parking areas. Please park off the grass. If there is no room off the grass, please move your vehicle every two days so we may keep the grass green. Please keep campground roads clear for emergency vehicles. Information on overflow parking areas for additional vehicles, boats, trailers, or tow rigs is available in the campground office.

FIREWOOD Bundles of dry firewood are available to purchase at the camp store. Per the State of California, you are required to buy wood where you burn it. Only buy firewood within 50 miles of your camping destination, and ask if they know where their wood comes from. Purchase certified, heat-treated firewood if local wood is not available. Model responsible practices and encourage others to do the same. Please help keep our forests healthy. All wood must be used or taken with you when you depart. CAMPFIRES when permitted are allowed in designated areas only. Fires must not be higher than 2 ft. Fires and BBQs must be personally attended. No one under 18 is allowed to start or attend fires or BBQs. All fires must be put out completely with water before retiring or leaving the space. Smokers please take special care during fire season and place debris in proper receptacles.

NO SOLICITING for goods or services of any kind is allowed in the park without prior written approval from the owners. No advertising or signage except that which is painted on vehicles is allowed.

GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING - Please be aware that the pastures are surrounded by an ELECTRIC FENCE. For your safety do not attempt to cross or place personal items on or near fencing. Do not cross into other campsites. Please do not move tables from other sites. If you must move a table in your site, please return it to its original location upon checkout. Please keep your site tidy and tie down/secure any items that may blow away. Do not leave awnings, pop-ups, or shade tents up while you are away. Do not hang items in trees. ​​

FISHING - We stock this pond for your enjoyment. Please keep in mind, we pay approximately $5.25 per fish. Please pick up a wristband from the office prior to fishing. Please be respectful and do not go over your limit. Those caught poaching will be asked to leave without a refund. Thank you for your courtesy and cooperation.

PERMITS Pond permits must be purchased prior to fishing. Fishing is for Campground guests only. The fee is $15.00 for adults with a 5 fish limit, and $7.00 for children under 12 with a 2 fish limit. Children 5 and under fish for free with a paid adult.

NO CATCH AND RELEASE - Any fish caught must be kept. If you do not eat fish please check in with the office and we will be happy to find someone who would like to cook them. Fish guts go in the RED trash can near the pond. Please do not throw the whole fish in the RED can and no fish/guts in any other dumpsters/trash cans. Please do not throw trash in the red can. The fish cleaning station is supplied for campground guests only. Please do not clean fish anywhere other than the cleaning station. ​

SWIMMING - A swimming area is provided for your enjoyment at the pond. Please be advised there is NO

LIFEGUARD ON DUTY at any time. SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK. No swimming and no use of blow-up rafts or flotation devices of any kind are allowed beyond the rope. No kayaks or boats are allowed anywhere on the pond. NO GLASS is allowed near the swim area. Please pick up all debris and personal belongings before leaving the area.
